Our Mission:  Florida Oceanographic's mission is to protect, preserve and restore Florida's ocean and coastal ecosywtems through education, research and personal stewardship."

 

The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is located on Hutchinson Island, situated betweeen the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. The 56 acre parcel houses the Society's headquarters, nature trails, Childrens Activity Pavilion, Rays on the Reef Ray Pavilion, Sea Star Touch Tank Pavilion, Game Fish Lagoon with Boardwalk and the Frances Langford Visitor's Center, including Gift Shop. With its coastal hardwood hammocks and mangrove forest communities, the site provides excellent opportunities for educational and research aimed at increasing environmental awareness.
